Blue Crab Migration

Every year between the months of September and October, thousands of blue crabs emerge from their homes in the mangrove forest of Bahía Petempich to migrate to the ocean and lay their eggs. We are very fortunate to witness this beautiful event each year at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita.

The migration is linked to the full moon and the amount of rainfall that occurs during the summer months. However due to the weather conditions that the Riviera Maya experienced over the last few weeks, the blue crab migration took place earlier than usual.

The Cancun and Riviera Maya area began a Blue Crab Protection campaign in 1991 with help of the Ecology board. Since then, dozens of volunteers help this fantastic species during their migration journey.
 
As part of our green initiatives at our resort, we understand the importance of the natural resources found in our mangroves and were more than happy to help the blue crabs complete their journey of reproduction. What Makes Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita Jet-List Worthy?

While there are many things that make Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita Jet-List worthy, Carole Murphy, travel agent and blogger for Dear Sky Steward, names just one of them in her recent blog “Navigating the Cancun International Airport”.

The article provides some helpful tips on how to navigate the airport and arrive at your resort much easier and a lot less stressful. Among the tips she provides, Carole’s #3 tip is to secure resort transportation before you leave home. She also recommends considering a Jet-List worthy resort like Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita which provides private transportation. Take a look at what she had to say.

3.  Secure resort transportation BEFORE you leave home.
I cannot stress this enough. There are several transportation companies that you can book through. I use Best Day. Once you exit the airport, you’ll find the transportation area full of reps holding signs. Find your rep (the sign will either say your last name or ‘Best Day’) & you’re all set.

Besides not having to worry about transportation, you’ll also benefit by not having to talk to those pesky time-share sellers as you exit the airport (as mentioned in #2 above).

Don’t wanna worry about making transportation reservations? Jet-List-worthy Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita resort in Riviera Maya uses private transportation. You’ll be picked up at the airport in one of their pearl-colored Lincoln Navigators, complete with a glass of champagne. What’s not to like about that?!?
