A Monarch Butterfly is Born at Zoëtry Casa Del Mar Resort & Spa

Have you ever wondered exactly what happens to a caterpillar as it undergoes its transformation into a beautiful butterfly? Thanks to local butterfly farm Sia Tikuva, recent guests at Zoëtry Casa Del Mar Resort & Spa had the chance to witness this little miracle of nature.

Sia Tikuva brought a Monarch caterpillar to the resort and kept it in a special, veiled vase at the front desk for everyone to see. The black and yellow striped caterpillar metamorphosed to form a green cocoon and then a black one. Finally, after about a month, the creature opened its wings and revealed to the world that it was now a stunning Monarch butterfly.

Check out these amazing photos of the caterpillar’s remarkable transformation!
