The Story of Hippos Bar at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita Riviera Maya

Hippos Bar, the peaceful outdoor lounge at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita, is named after the two hippopotamus statues that stand gracefully on the edge of the left of the bar.  While these two statues have not been separated since arriving at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita, they almost never made it to their iconic places at the lounge that was named just for them.

After being purchased in Africa, the hippos were immediately shipped off to Mexico to be added to the luxurious art collection at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita.  Unfortunately, when the statues arrived in Mexico, they were unable to enter the country due to permit issues. As soon as the hippos got to Mexico, they were shipped immediately back to Africa.  After countless hours and thousands of miles of travel, the hippos finally made their way back from Africa, again, to their newly beloved home at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita.

Check out the pictures below, in the slideshow, of the hippos themselves, and the lovely ambiance of the Hippos Bar at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita.
