A good night’s sleep is important for the following reasons:
It keeps your heart healthy. Lack of sleep has been associated with high blood pressure and cholesterol, both risk factors of heart disease.
It helps reduce stress. When your body is sleep deprived, it goes into a state of stress, so it’s important to get the right amount of ZZZ’s each night.
It gives you energy. Sleep makes you more alert especially when you’re getting the same amount each night. Your body will naturally feel energized.
It can aid in weight loss. Research has shown that people who sleep less than seven hours per night are more likely to gain weight and less likely to lose it.
It helps the body repair. Since you’ll be spending alot of time in the sun during your stay with us, sleep will help the body repair from sunburn or exposure to ultraviolet rays. Your cells produce more protein while sleeping and these molecules form the building blocks for cells, allowing them to repair damage.
If you’re visiting us soon, be sure to get the right amount of sleep during your vacation. Call it a night at a decent hour and make it a point to wake up early so you’re enjoying more of your day. Similarly, try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day so you’re body’s internal clock adjusts.
