It was an exciting weekend at Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita.  Our first sea turtle of the season arrived to lay eggs on our beach. In the Mayan Riviera, sea turtles lay eggs during the night and carefully cover them with sand.  By morning hours, the mother turtle is back in the ocean and baby turtle eggs reside in the warm sands of our beach.

In less than one month, these eggs will hatch and our guests will be treated to an amazing experience – the chance to return baby sea turtles back to the sea.

Our first nest has 104 eggs!  We will continue to report as more nests are created and our first babies are born.
